I looked at her with wide eyes. "Let's not and say we did." I was terrified of flying. I preferred to staying on the ground, not defying gravity in a large metal object that had no right being in the air. Besides, those things land in 'terminals'. Terminal made me think death and the association didn't help any.

I nodded in agreement to not do such a thing. “So then we keep it simple by going to the Rath a Ruins?” I made sure he kept moving, it seemed like the time was moving faster and we were running out of it quickly. My first hour was with Shannon but that was it. If I were lucky I would see him at lunch but till then he was on fates good humor.

I sighed happily. "Rath and Ruins. That place never gets old. I heard there was going to be a band playing there. They're doing a lot of stuff by Hawthorne Heights and it seemed interesting." Music always made me start rambling. When I realized it, I abruptly shut up. I hadn't looked at my watch the entire time we were walking, not wanting to know how little time we had left.

“Alright then in that case you can consider it a date.” I was happy to see an improvement in his mood almost suddenly. Music was a wonderful thing, especially because it was able to bring a smile to his face even in the worst times. “Maybe some time we can go and see the real deal in concert, I would love to see Hawthorne Heights live.”

I nodded. "That would be awesome. I'm not sure if the band is still together or not though." I knew that their guitarist had died but I wasn't sure if they had continued after that. I still had other bands as back up plans though.

“Oh…well then.” The eagerness sort of fell from my face when I heard the news. I guess my inability to be musically educated caused yet another moment of stupid on my part. “I’m sorry to hear that I didn’t know…umm perhaps there is another band that you would like to see? You know one that has an alive guitarist”

I gave her a disbelieving look. "As if I don't listen to a thousand other bands," I said jokingly. I had a huge list of people who were on tour and probably coming close enough to Bellvue for us to go see. I looked around quickly and pulled out my phone, clicking through the alerts that I had for nearby concerts. I handed it to her. "There are tons that are going to come by here in the next six months."

When I got to looking at the extensive list the gears in my brain began to turn. “What do you say we make it our mission to go to as many of these concerts as we possibly can.” I handed back his phone before anyone else had a real chance to notice. “That would take your mind off of school for a lot longer then on day trip to The Rath and Ruins, and you could use these concerts as an excuse to re-educate me on music.” I was thinking on a big scale, but with some financial help from my parents this could possibly work out.

I smiled mischievously. "This outta be fun. We'll be out all night partying." Sometimes the concerts would get out of hand and they were almost more fun that way. Jase and I used to go to concerts before he got busy.

“Partying is something we both need.” I was about to begin bantering on about how long it had been since I’d seen a good party, but the dreaded warning bell had other plans. I looked to the ceiling with a very displeased looked on my face. “Why…” I looked back to Shannon, attempting to force a smile. “So do you need me to walk you to your next class?”

I smiled cynically. "I'll be fine." Somehow, my personality and mood was controlled by the toll of that bell. I could go from calm and happy to extremely anxious and snappy just from the sound of the bell. My next class was art so I had no problem with that. Hopefully, the teacher and other students would keep their distance from me. If they did, we would get along just fine.
