I walked out of my room with one of my old button up shirts on backwards. It felt like I was in a hospital gown, and frankly it was weird. I meandered into Shannon’s room and watched as he went about with what ever it was he had to do to prepare. I stayed quite so that I could observe without disrupting.

I didn't notice her at first since I was busy trying to find the shirt I was looking for in the back of my closet. I eventually found it. It was a white v-neck short sleeve shirt. It was best for art projects since I could bleach any stains. I tugged off my shirt and tossed it in the general direction of the dirty pile of clothes in the corner. I tossed my belt with it and pulled off all my jewelry since I found it easier to work when I was most comfortable. I pulled on the white t-shirt and pulled my phone out of my jeans pocket, turning it off and leaving it on my dresser so nobody could bother me while I was working.

To not make him feel uncomfortable with my staring I stepped out of the room before he turned around and walked out to the living room. The image of a shirtless Shannon was still present in my mind. I was subtly trying to decide if it was a back thing to think about Shannon like that or not.

On my way back to the living room, I picked up a warm glass of water to clean the brushes. I sat it next to the paint on the coffee table and sat on the edge of it. The table was sturdy and would have no problem holding the both of us up. "You ready?" I lined up the brushes next to the paint, on top of the dry cloths in the kit.

I nodded once. “Yeppers just let me know where you need me.” I looked to the table, I could only assume we would be here but where I was supposed to sit, or how rather was still a mystery of sorts.

I placed my hand on her back between her shoulders. "The table will soon become your best friend. Or your enemy, depending on which way you see it." I shrugged, smiling charmingly. I opened the tops of the paints, lining them up by color. "The paint might be a little cold, it's been under my bed for a rather long time."

His hand on my back sent a shiver down my spine. I moved to the table without letting on that it had happened and sat down on it. I was hesitant at first but finally just sat down. “So do I need to do anything aside from sit here?” I turned my head part way to look at him.

I tried to smile encouragingly. "Not really. Just hold still." I curled one foot under me and tried to figure out how I would work around the button up shirt. I wasn't quite sure what she was comfortable with so I occupied myself with finding the first brushes I would need and the black outlining paint.

I turned back to look forward. I found a spot on the wall to stare at so that I could just clear my mind and focus on keeping still. I waited for what seemed like forever, the cool temperature of the paint would come as a shock no doubt I was just curious as to when.

I held the first brush between my teeth and undid the buttons down her back. I grabbed the first brush, dipping it in the paint. I steadied my hand against her back, starting the first line between her shoulders and sweeping it up over her shoulder blade and down the right side of her back. The line formed the top outline of the first wing. I did the same to the other side, making absolutely sure that they were exactly the same.

I about jumped at the sudden feeling of the brush on my back. “Wow okay that scared me.” I took slow steady breaths so that I wouldn’t throw of his strokes. “You know this is actually really fun, when did you pick this up?” All the while I kept my gaze on the wall.

I couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, it's cold." I started to work on the inner outlines. "I started when Jase wanted his first tattoos. He wasn't sure if he'd like them or not so he had me do the artwork in this temporary paint first. Kind of like a trial run before he gets the real thing." I liked the body paint but I had never been able to see myself with a tattoo.

I cast the idea around in my head while Shannon continued to work. “So Jase has some sense, well that’s new.” I smirked widely at my comment. I didn’t mean to sound so brutal but with Jase it just sort of happened. “So maybe after this I could paint on you.”

I grinned at her comment while I finished the outlines of the inner feathers. "A brain he does have, yet that does not mean he always uses it correctly." I rinsed the brush in the warm water and closed the black paint. The next color I needed was a light olive green. I grabbed a brush that was slightly larger than the one I was using. "I wouldn't mind if you did. I've only ever experimented on my hands."

I tried to keep my laughter to a minimum so that I wouldn’t end up throwing him off. “Well I will be the first to change that.” On the mention of first my mind jumped to relationships. “So Shannon, just out of random curiosity have you ever been in a relationship before?”
