I fanned myself momentarily with my hand before replacing it on the table. "Does not..." Now I was just being stubborn. "I'll get you back some day, remember that." I didn't truly intend to carry out the threat but it fit the moment. I hoped that everyone had stopped staring by now.

I cantered my head slightly. “I’ll be waiting.” I put both my hands behind my head and leaned back in my chair once more. “So when do you think our lovely waitress will be coming back…” I put a facieses emphasis on the word lovely. She seemed more like a wicked stepmother then she did lovely.

I pretended to think for a moment. "Hopefully after I'm dead. I don't exactly trust her..." I chewed on a fingernail absentmindedly. I couldn't exactly recall what event had taken place that had made her dislike me so much but that was obviously the source of her animosity. "It's probably Jase's fault anyway..."

I found myself laughing when Shannon proceeded to blame his brother. The best part was that I could see it being Jase’s fault too. “Well then what do you say we ditch her and find some where with a bit more hospitality. I’m not sure I’m ready for you to be dead yet.”

I continued to chew on my thumbnail. "Where do you have in mind?" I planned on coming back here on some night when it was a little more lively. Currently it was like a graveyard; probably due to the heat outside and the fact that it was daytime. I weaved a finger through the tears in my jeans again.

I looked to the exit then back to Shannon. “Well that I’m not so sure of, I thought maybe we could walk till we found a place to just crash.” I wasn’t so sure if he had walked here or drove. If I had assumed wrong I was sure he would correct me in time.

I thought about the suggestion before agreeing. "Sounds good to me. Though I'd prefer somewhere dark. I'm not exactly ready to move away from my comforting shadows just yet." I smiled crookedly at her. I didn't know the town well and I figured she'd know somewhere we could go.

I flipped my hood up once more as I stood to start the leaving motions. “Well we could stroll through Black Pine Forest.” The dense woods seemed like a good place to go to escape the light. Anywhere else in this town was bound to be populated, so that just added another bonus to the woods. All the same I waited for Shannon’s opinion.

I nodded and slid off of my chair, re-accustoming myself to walking. I had been sitting for a lot longer than I realized. "Sounds good. It'll be good to know the local forest so I don't get lost on my ventures." I hoped she knew what I was talking about. I was very vague about those trips and most people didn't know I even went into the woods at all.

I nodded adding that other factor onto my growing list of why choosing the forest was a good idea. “So then off we go yes?” I didn’t wait for an answer before I took him by the hand and proceeded to lead him to the exit.

I followed willingly, completely at ease. I tossed one final glare at the staring guy at the bar before gracefully tripping over my own foot. I stumbled but recovered without falling. I could just imagine what Jase would have said. 'Walk much?' in that annoying tone he liked to tease me with.
